Full job description

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Chef to join our kitchen team.

The successful candidate will have a good general kitchen background, along with experience preparing and cooking pizzas. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can work efficiently, maintain consistently high standards and remain organised during busy periods.

One of the main benefits of this role is its Monday-to-Thursday schedule, providing with weekends off.

Main responsibilities

Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard.
Prepare, stretch, top and cook pizzas.
Complete food preparation ahead of each service.
Maintain appropriate portion sizes and presentation standards.
Ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.
Follow all HACCP, food-safety and hygiene procedures.
Complete temperature checks, cleaning records and other required HACCP documentation.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
Minimise food waste and help control kitchen costs.
Receive and correctly store deliveries.
Work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Assist with developing dishes and pizza specials where required.

What we are looking for

Previous experience working as a chef in a busy kitchen.
General experience preparing and cooking a range of dishes.
Previous pizza-making experience.
Knowledge of dough preparation and pizza ovens would be an advantage.
HACCP training and a strong understanding of food-safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good organisation and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently during busy services.
A reliable, punctual and positive approach to work.
A strong focus on quality, consistency and cleanliness.
