Full job description

Senior Cafe and Catering Manager

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Café & Catering Manager to take a leading role across both our café and growing catering/events business. This is a predominantly a daytime role – very occasional evening work required.

This is a senior position for someone with strong hospitality experience who is confident overseeing a team, managing day-to-day café operations, building relationships with customers and clients, and identifying opportunities to grow our catering and events offering.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the café operates smoothly and to a consistently high standard, while also taking ownership of enquiries, bookings and opportunities across our catering and events side.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, supporting and overseeing the café team, including rotas, training, standards and day-to-day performance.

Managing the daily operation of the café, ensuring excellent service, presentation, food quality and customer experience.

Taking responsibility for stock ordering, supplier relationships and ensuring the business is appropriately stocked.

Managing invoices, purchase orders and general administrative duties.

Responding promptly and professionally to customer and catering enquiries.

Managing bookings and coordinating catering/event requirements from initial enquiry through to delivery.

Actively identifying new catering and event opportunities and helping convert enquiries into confirmed business.

Developing ideas and initiatives to grow the catering side of the business.

Supporting the planning and delivery of off-site catering, private events and corporate bookings.

Managing the business's social media presence, including planning, creating and scheduling engaging content.

Helping to promote café activity, events, catering services and special offers across relevant social channels.

About You

You'll ideally have:

Several years' experience in hospitality, café, restaurant, catering or events management.

Proven experience supervising and managing a team.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Experience handling bookings, enquiries and client relationships.

Experience with ordering, stock management and invoices.

A good understanding of social media and how it can be used to promote and grow a hospitality business.

Commercial awareness and an ability to spot opportunities to generate additional revenue.

Experience with catering, events or corporate hospitality would be a strong advantage.

A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.

The ability to stay calm, organised and professional in a busy environment.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable running a busy café floor, dealing with a corporate catering enquiry, organising staff, placing an order, checking an invoice, creating a social media post or developing a new catering opportunity.
