The Role
As a Goods Inwards Supervisor, you will support the Goods Inwards Manager with the day-to-day running of the Goods In department, ensuring all incoming deliveries are received, checked and processed accurately and efficiently. You will ensure deliveries are checked against orders and delivery documentation, with any shortages, damages or discrepancies identified and reported promptly.
You will supervise and support the Goods Inwards team, ensuring daily tasks, priorities and workloads are managed effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, safety and productivity. You will work closely with Purchasing, Morning and Afternoon Operations and Inventory to ensure stock is received, processed and made available correctly.
This position is ideally suited to someone who is organised, reliable and confident in supervising a team, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Goods In & Stock Control
· Oversee the accurate receipt and checking of all incoming deliveries.
· Ensure deliveries are checked against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
· Identify and report shortages, damages, incorrect deliveries and other discrepancies promptly.
· Ensure all stock is received and processed accurately and efficiently.
· Maintain high standards of organisation, accuracy and stock control within the department.
Team Supervision & Operational Support
· Support, guide and motivate staff with their daily tasks and priorities.
· Allocate workloads effectively to ensure the department operates efficiently.
· Support the training and development of team members.
· Work closely with Morning and Afternoon Operations and Inventory to ensure smooth stock flow.
· Communicate effectively with Purchasing regarding delivery discrepancies and supplier issues.
· Assist in managing the department in the absence of the Goods In Manager.
· Lead by example and ensure company procedures and standards are consistently followed.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Skills Required
· Previous experience in a Goods In, Warehouse, Stock Control or Supervisory role.
· Strong organisational and attention to detail skills.
· Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
· Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
· Good IT skills and the ability to manage daily priorities effectively.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
· Strong understanding of stock control, receiving and warehouse procedures.
