Full job description

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indian dishes to a consistently high standard.
Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene and comply with HACCP procedures.
Assist with menu planning and the development of new Indian dishes and seasonal specials.
Monitor stock levels and inform management of ordering requirements.
Minimise food waste through proper stock rotation and portion control.
Ensure all food is stored, labelled, and handled correctly.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen at all times.
Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
Train and support junior kitchen staff where required.
Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety legislation.
Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and reported if faulty.
Work collaboratively with the restaurant management team to deliver excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role specialising in Indian cuisine.
Strong knowledge of authentic North and South Indian cooking techniques.
Experience preparing tandoori dishes, curries, biryanis, breads, vegetarian dishes, and traditional Indian sauces.
Excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques.
Good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Fluent English is desirable.
