Hours: 37 hours week Mon to Thurs: 8:00am - 4:30pm. Early finish most Fridays @ 1:00pm, no weekends required.
Salary: €50,000 to 55,000 for the 37 hours
Due to continued expansion, we are hiring a Human Resources Generalist reporting to the Head of HR. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering HR services across our Clondalkin and Cherry Orchard sites in Dublin, enabling the design and production of low voltage electrical power distribution systems for both local and multinational clients.
This position is ideal for someone with minimum 3 years of experience in a dedicated HR role who wants broad, hands-on exposure across HR and thrives on tackling a variety of challenging situations. We looking for a true generalist who is a competent, confident HR professional who can operate credibly with all employees, taking ownership of complex matters, and applying sound judgement grounded in legislation, policy, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Attend weekly or bi weekly meetings with various managers regarding business progress in the context of HR ensuring compliance with Irish employment legislation and best practice.
- Act as a trusted advisor, coaching leaders on HR-related issues with a professional and introspective approach towards performance , absence management, conduct and other related matters.
- Independently handling investigations such as grievance and disciplinary processes, applying the principles of fair and natural justice, ensuring compliant documentation aligned to Irish employment law and best practice.
- Provide guidance to management and employees on all HR matters,
- Maintain consistency in policy application and precedent, ensuring fairness and legal compliance.
Learning & Development Delivery
- Deliver new starter induction presentations and reinductions as required.
- Work closely with the Head of HR to design, deliver and evaluate in-person and online training programs using our new LMS, covering technical, compliance, and soft-skills training. Maintain accurate, centralized training records to support group reporting, development tracking and compliance requirements.
- Support leadership development and workforce upskilling by partnering with the Leadership team and HR team to identify current and future capability needs.
- Work closely with managers to identify learning needs and development opportunities across the organisation.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Apply policy, precedent, and legislation consistently, understanding the risk and impact of decisions on the business.
- Act as the first point of escalation for operational HR issues, exercising sound judgement and knowing when to step back.
- Co-own with our HR Admin the day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract management, probation reviews, role changes, and leavers.
- Prepare and analyse HR metrics (absence, turnover, ER trends, training compliance), providing insight rather than just data.
- Continuously review, draft, implement, and interpret HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Irish employment legislation, codes of practice, and case law, and applying them consistently in live, day-to-day situations.
- Work closely with the HR Admin to maintain accurate and legally compliant employee records, ensuring GDPR standards are met at all times. Ensuring documentation and processes stand up to required scrutiny.
- Work closely with the HR Admin to Manage HRIS systems end-to-end, including data integrity, reporting, audits, and process improvements.
- Ensure employment contracts, letters, and documentation are fit for purpose, legally compliant, and commercially appropriate.
Culture, Engagement & CSR
- Coordinate and support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Drive contributions to corporate social responsibility programs and projects that strengthen company culture.
- Champion team-building, employee recognition programs, CSR activities and effective internal communication to foster a positive workplace environment.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Own and deliver HR projects aligned with the 24-month HR Project Plan, focused on improving employee experience, HR processes, and systems.
- Present findings, analyze trends, identify opportunities, and implement practical solutions that add business value.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure cohesive and coordinated project delivery across the team.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Focus remains on broader HR responsibilities; day-to-day recruitment is handled by our dedicated recruiter. This role occasionally supports recruitment for specialist roles, internal promotions, or internal moves.
- Advising managers on specs, selection and assessment for these specific cases, ensuring fair and effective decisions are applied.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 years proven HR experience in a local business operating within a multinational environment.
- Broad, hands-on experience across HR functions including employee relations, learning & development, recruitment (supporting specialist/internal roles), and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment law, codes of practice, and HR best practices.
- Experience drafting HR policies and procedures, applying them consistently to various situations.
- Confident handling complex employee relations, including grievances, disciplinaries, and performance issues.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and influence management in professional HR practices.
- Experience delivering learning modules and development programs.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD) or 3+ years’ equivalent experience in a broad HR role.
- Experience handling employee relations, L&D, HR operations, and compliance within a local business, it would be an advantage if this was part of an MNC environment.
- Strong familiarity with HRIS systems and reporting platforms; experience with docking systems is an advantage.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
