TITLE OF VACANCY:
Accommodation Executive, Dublin, Hybrid
THE ROLE:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and place FIT hotel accommodation and group accommodation for Abbey, The Destination Experts Ireland. Key to this role will be to ensure that all accommodation requirements are placed within the agreed service level time frame, while at the same time maximising the Company’s revenue yield. This is a Dublin based position reporting to the Group Accommodation Manager.
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Placement of all Accommodation requirements, Group, FIT & Online with a focus on achieving the Company’s overall targets.
- Manage and Utilise Group and FIT allocation, compiling a Monthly Utilisation FIT Report with recommendations for action.
- Requesting FIT and Group Accommodation via phone or email.
- Ensuring all terms and conditions in Hotel Contracts are in line with Group and FIT requirements.
- Responsibility for agreeing FIT closeouts with individual hotels and updating the system along with the IS Department.
- Monitoring the Group & FIT allocation and requesting additional FIT allocation where necessary.
- Liaise with account handlers internally to provide the best outcome for their clients, dealing with FIT overbooking situations as they arise.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all suppliers and compiling hotel inspection reports, ensuring they are updated in the system.
- Monitoring Weekly / Daily updates to key suppliers via the Company system and responding to any queries.
- Managing XML bookings and correspondence for Ireland (Icom inbox) or any online connectivity applications.
- Coordinate with other departments involved the special offers or any promotional rates on time.
- Processing booking requests for staff of Abbey Group.
- Attending Supplier Events when necessary.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time by your Manager or Director (and this could be in another Department within the Abbey Group).
- Assisting the Abbey Group with its environmental and responsible tourism initiatives
Depending on role - Some travel may be required and will be in compliance with the company’s Business Travel Policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in English required (oral & written)
- Yield Management qualification and/or experience in a similar role preferred.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organisational/administration skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to use IT effectively. A working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of programmes essential. Familiarity with tour operating software an advantage but not essential
- The ability to be methodical/orderly and accurate. Must be able to cope with strict work deadlines and be able to respond effectively to any new tasks
- Experience in tourism with good knowledge of the Irish Tourism products and suppliers a distinct advantage
- Flexibility and adaptability in approach
- Team player able to work in a busy environment
DESIRABLES:
- 3rd level degree in Tourism, Business or Languages or relevant experience
- Very good knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of the system Tourplan a distinct advantage
