Safety Specialist Supervisor - Manguard Plus

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Facility: Single client facility

Reports to: Safety and Security Program Manager - Manguard Plus

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00. Flexibility may be required from time to time to support operational requirements, client events, emergency incidents, or changes to site coverage.

Purpose of Job

The Safety Specialist Supervisor will supervise and support the Safety Specialist team at a client facility in Dublin. The role is responsible for ensuring the Safety Specialist operation delivers a best-in-class service by maintaining high standards of punctuality, presentation, professionalism, and positive engagement with the client, while supporting a safe and secure workplace.

The Safety Specialist Supervisor will work closely with onsite Manguard Plus management to ensure service delivery meets and exceeds client expectations, while supporting the effective day-to-day running of the Safety Specialist team.

The role will include oversight of both the Day and Night Safety Specialist shifts, ensuring consistency of standards, communication, reporting, and operational performance across both teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Specialist Supervisor will be responsible for liaising directly with onsite Manguard Plus management to ensure the team's output meets and exceeds the expectations of the client.

The role will include oversight of both the AM and PM Safety Specialist teams, ensuring consistency in service delivery, reporting, patrols, escalation procedures, site compliance, and client-facing conduct across both shifts.

The Supervisor will support and review the shift handover process between AM and PM teams to ensure all relevant information, incidents, outstanding actions, and operational updates are communicated clearly and accurately.

The role will include overseeing and quality checking handover reports, incident reports, patrol records, daily activity records, and other safety and security-related documentation from both shifts to ensure all communications are accurate, professional, and completed to the required standard.

The Supervisor will conduct team briefings and ensure that both AM and PM team members are familiar with recent operational updates, site procedures, expectations, client requirements, and any changes to agreed processes.

The Supervisor will manage team schedules for break times, patrols, and other operational support duties, ensuring appropriate coverage is maintained and that both shifts operate in line with agreed procedures and performance standards.

The role will require monitoring team compliance across both shifts with site rules, uniform standards, personal device usage while on duty, reporting requirements, patrol procedures, and all relevant company and client procedures.

The Supervisor will review activity from both shifts to identify gaps, recurring issues, trends, training needs, or performance concerns requiring follow-up with onsite Manguard Plus management.

The Supervisor will ensure effective communication between AM and PM teams so that both shifts are aligned on current site procedures, client expectations, operational changes, and agreed performance standards.

The Supervisor will promptly escalate incidents, concerns, incomplete actions, or operational issues to onsite Manguard Plus management in line with agreed escalation procedures.

Conduct and Presentation

The Safety Specialist Supervisor must conduct themselves in a responsible, honest, and conscientious manner by:

Presenting a clean, neatly groomed, and professional personal appearance.

Being accountable for all actions while on duty.

Demonstrating concern for the safety and security of visitors, employees, contractors, and client personnel.

Displaying respect for company rules, client policies, and site procedures.

Acting as a cooperative and supportive member of the wider team.

Being courteous, helpful, and professional always.

Representing Manguard Plus to a high standard in a client-facing environment.

Essential Duties

Collaborate with management to ensure consistent levels of service in line with agreed performance metrics.

Work with management to ensure the Safety Specialist team remains compliant with agreed KPIs as per the Statement of Work.

Ensure all new hires have fully completed all necessary training prior to being scheduled for duty.

Support smooth shift changeovers, ensuring that any issues are reported to management promptly.

Ensure staff members are compliant with all uniform and presentation requirements.

Monitor handovers and reports to ensure all communications are completed to a professional standard.

Ensure patrols are conducted diligently and all records are logged accurately and in a timely manner.

Support the protection of people, property, and information in accordance with the client's safety strategy on site.

Assist in providing safety directions and leadership to client staff where required, supporting the safety business plan and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.

Support the implementation of site procedures, operational updates, and client requirements across the Safety Specialist team.

Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, safety awareness, and positive engagement across the team.

Make sound decisions under pressure and escalate incidents appropriately in line with site and company procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with company and client policies.

Required Qualifications and Skillset

Minimum of 5 years' security experience.

Valid PSA License.

Manual Handling certification.

First Aid certification.

IFPO CPO and CSSM qualifications are desirable.

Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a security, safety, facilities, or client-facing operational environment is desirable.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare incident reports, handover notes, and operational updates to a professional standard.

PC literate, with working knowledge of Google Docs, Excel, and other reporting systems.

Skilled in people management, team coordination, and performance monitoring.

Skilled in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and maintaining professionalism under pressure.

Strong situational awareness and sound judgement.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00.

Flexibility may be required from time to time to support operational requirements, client events, emergency incidents, or changes to site coverage.
