Job Summary
The Facilities Control Room Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Facilities Control Room, ensuring the effective monitoring of building systems, management of service requests, coordination of maintenance activities, and response to incidents across the client's portfolio.
The role involves leading Control Room Operators, supporting operational performance, ensuring compliance with agreed service levels, and acting as the key escalation point for facilities-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Supervise the daily operation of the Facilities Control Room.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and other critical systems.
- Ensure incidents, faults, and maintenance requests are logged, escalated, and resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities with service providers and site teams.
- Oversee shift handovers and ensure accurate record keeping.
Team Leadership
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Control Room Operators.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and development of team members.
- Support rota planning and resource allocation to ensure operational coverage.
Incident & Emergency Response
- Act as the first escalation point for operational incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinate responses to fire alarms, system failures, utility outages, and other critical events.
- Liaise with site management, contractors, emergency services, and key stakeholders during incidents.
- Ensure incidents are documented, investigated, and reported appropriately.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, and operational teams.
- Provide timely updates on service issues and operational performance.
- Support the Facilities Control Tower Manager in delivering a high-quality customer experience.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, and site procedures.
- Produce incident reports, operational updates, and KPI reports as required.
- Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a facilities management, helpdesk, control room, or operations environment.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team.
- Knowledge of BMS, CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring systems.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Experience using CAFM systems.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Experience within healthcare, commercial, data centre, or multi-site environments.
- First Aid qualification.
