Role Overview

The successful candidate will play an important role in managing and developing sales across Murphy Precast’s key market sectors:
- Agricultural
- Utilities
- Sports
- Construction
The role will have a particular focus on our established Agricultural customer base, while also supporting and developing sales opportunities across our Utilities, Sports and Construction product ranges.
This is a hands-on sales position. The successful candidate will deal directly with customers, understand their requirements, recommend suitable precast products and solutions, prepare and follow up quotations, convert opportunities into orders and maintain strong customer relationships.
The person will work closely with the wider Murphy Precast team to ensure customers receive a professional and responsive service from initial enquiry through to order and delivery.

- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, customer conversations, orders and follow-up activity.
- Develop a strong understanding of the full Murphy Precast product range.
Quotation & Lead Follow-Up
A key part of this role is ensuring that sales opportunities are actively managed rather than simply responding to incoming enquiries.
The Internal Sales Representative will:
- Take clear ownership of assigned enquiries and sales leads.
- Prepare and issue quotations promptly.
- Maintain a structured approach to quotation follow-up.
- Contact customers to understand the status of outstanding quotations.
- Ask for the order and identify any issues preventing the customer from proceeding.
- Keep the sales pipeline and customer information up to date.
- Re-engage previous and existing customers where appropriate.
- Work closely with the external sales function to ensure leads and opportunities are followed through.
- Provide visibility on quotations won, lost and outstanding.
Order Management & Internal Coordination
Once an order is secured, the Internal Sales Representative will help ensure that accurate information is transferred through the business.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure confirmed orders are accurately recorded and communicated internally.
- Confirm customer requirements, quantities, specifications and delivery information.
- Liaise closely with production, operations and delivery teams regarding customer requirements and timelines.
- Provide customers with clear and accurate information regarding their orders.
- Flag urgent requirements, changes or potential customer issues at an early stage.
- Maintain appropriate customer communication throughout the order process.
- Help ensure a smooth flow from Enquiry → Quotation → Order → Production → Delivery.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.
LEAN & Continuous Improvement
Murphy Precast operates a LEAN approach across the business. The Internal Sales Representative will be expected to work within and support the company’s agreed processes and continuous improvement culture.
The role will include:
- Follow and support agreed sales and quotation processes.
- Maintain accurate and complete information to ensure enquiries and quotations flow efficiently through the business.
- Take ownership of their part of the sales process.
- Work in a structured and consistent manner.
- Identify and highlight recurring issues, bottlenecks or customer pain points.
- Provide practical feedback based on day-to-day customer and sales experience.
- Support the implementation of agreed process improvements and new ways of working.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain an efficient flow of information from sales through production and delivery.
- Avoid unnecessary rework or duplication by following agreed processes and maintaining accurate information.
- Participate positively in Murphy Precast’s LEAN and continuous improvement culture.
The Internal Sales Representative is not expected to redesign the sales or quotation process. Their responsibility is to use the agreed process effectively, provide feedback where issues arise and support improvements as they are implemented.

- Good at building long-term customer relationships.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Able to learn technical product information and communicate it clearly to customers.
