As a member of the OmniPro Practice Support team (OPPS), you will provide technical audit, financial reporting and quality assurance support to accounting practitioners. You will help firms meet their obligations under auditing, ethical, financial reporting and quality management standards, support them through monitoring visit processes, and develop practical resources, tools and guidance that strengthen audit quality across the profession.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Compliance & Quality Review
- Review audit engagement files and documentation to assess compliance with ISA, ISQM 1 and ISQM 2, and the Code of Ethics for Members, identifying deficiencies and providing practical feedback and remediation recommendations.
- Review financial statements for compliance with the applicable financial reporting framework (e.g. FRS 102, IFRS) and Companies Act 2014 requirements.
- Perform annual compliance reviews of firms' adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
Monitoring & Regulatory Visit Support
- Assist practitioners in preparing for monitoring and visits, including pre-monitoring readiness reviews and advice on strengthening quality management and control systems.
- Support firms in responding to monitoring visit findings, including remedial action plans and regulatory submissions.
Technical Advisory
- Respond to technical queries from practitioners on auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks and ethical requirements, and undertake technical research to support the wider team.
- Develop resources, tools and templates to support practitioners in managing audit quality and compliance.
Product & Business Development
- Participate in product development projects, including technical content creation and review.
- Develop and deliver seminars, webinars and training materials on audit quality, compliance and technical topics, for both business promotion and revenue generation.
- Engage with and support the Group's marketing plan, generating new leads and clients through professional promotion and business development activity.
- Manage the sales pipeline for Practice Support engagements, including development of leads and conversion to clients.
- Manage billing and collections for all billable Practice Support client engagements.
- Liaise with accountants to identify their needs and develop practical, creative solutions.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience, with significant audit experience gained in a Top 20 practice.
- Strong working knowledge of ISA, ISQM 1 and ISQM 2, the Code of Ethics for Members, and the Irish audit regulatory and company law framework.
- Sound knowledge of applicable financial reporting frameworks (e.g. FRS 102, IFRS) and the ability to review financial statements for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Experience of audit compliance, monitoring, or quality assurance work is highly desirable.
- Experience of both large company and SME audit engagements.
- Desirable: an additional qualification in Financial Reporting, Company Law or Taxation.
- Ability to provide clear, practical solutions to real-world audit and compliance challenges.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and concisely.
- Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Self-motivated, with strong initiative, follow-through and a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with clients and to work effectively under pressure in a team environment.
