We are a fast-growing plastics recycling company located in Co. Meath, Ireland, with a growing workforce of 50 people. Specialising in converting waste PET plastic materials using state-of-the-art recycling technology, we are a market leader in providing circular solutions in the plastics industry in Europe. We are currently recruiting a part time accounts and payroll assistant for our team.
Purpose of the Role
To provide administrative and operational support to the Accounts / Payroll Administrator in the day-to-day running of the finance and payroll functions. The role will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll information, managing supplier documentation, and ensuring finance-related tasks are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Health & Safety
- Follow and promote best practice Health & Safety standards and procedures throughout all duties.
- Comply with company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of personal safety and safe working practices.
Accounts Administration
- Assist with the management of the accounts inbox, ensuring queries are directed and responded to in a timely manner.
- Process supplier invoices and supporting documentation accurately on the ERP system.
- Assist with raising purchase orders and maintaining associated records.
- Support supplier statement reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate supplier and customer account records.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations and month-end finance activities.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and associated schedules.
- Assist with payment run preparation and creditor account administration.
- Follow up on outstanding supplier queries and missing documentation.
- Process credit requests and maintain supporting records.
- Support monthly customer statement runs.
- Assist with banking administration, including posting and matching transactions.
- Liaise with internal departments including Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehouse and Human Resources to resolve finance-related queries.
- Maintain accurate filing and electronic document management systems.
- Assist with VAT, Intrastat and other statutory reporting preparations as required.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and reports.
Payroll Administration
- Assist with the preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll using payroll software.
- Input payroll data accurately, including hours worked, overtime, leave and deductions.
- Assist in maintaining employee payroll records and documentation.
- Support the preparation of payroll payments and associated reports.
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assist in ensuring payroll is processed in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with Human Resources regarding payroll changes, new starters and leavers.
- Support payroll reconciliations and reporting requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the company pension scheme and MyFutureFund portals and submissions of monthly information.
General Administration
- Liaise with external finance partners and service providers as required.
- Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and data requests.
- Provide cover for finance department activities during periods of leave or absence.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and payroll information.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by management.
Requirements
Qualifications
Essential
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Beneficial
- QQI, PLC, Business Administration, Accounting Technician, Bookkeeping or similar qualification.
- Payroll qualification or relevant payroll training.
Experience
Essential
- Previous administrative experience in an office environment.
- Experience working with computerised systems and data entry.
Beneficial
- 1–2 years' experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, payroll administration or finance support.
- Experience using accounting, ERP or payroll software.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Hours
This is a part-time position with working hours to be up to 20 hours per week. Flexibility may be required during payroll processing periods and month-end activities.uired
