A New Kind of Social Care Opportunity

TerraGlen is expanding into an exciting new area of service provision in Drogheda - supporting young people aged 16+ who may have complex needs.

This is more than a new mainstream service. It is an opportunity to be part of a specialist 16+ model focused on building trust, stability, independence and pathways towards adulthood.

Working within a low-stimulus, relationship-based approach, our team will support young people to develop confidence, self-regulation, life skills and greater independence while providing a safe, consistent and nurturing environment.

We are looking for experienced Social Care professionals who are confident working with complex presentations, challenging behaviours and dynamic risk, and who can bring patience, resilience, creativity and a genuinely non-judgemental approach to their practice. The model specifically recognises the need for flexible responses, unconditional positive regard and a commitment to maintaining support irrespective of a young person's behaviours.

Aftercare Manager - Mainstream Services

Permanent, Full-time contract

Residential Care Services

Job Purpose

The Aftercare Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, development, quality assurance and oversight of the aftercare service.

The post holder will ensure that young people receive a planned, consistent and individualised service that supports their transition from residential care towards adulthood and independent living.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management
Young Person-Centred Aftercare
Supporting YP Independent Living Skills
Accommodation and Transition Planning
Education, Training and Employment Supports for YP.
Financial Capability and support financial education for YP
Safeguarding and Child Protection
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Records and Information Management
Partnership Working
Staff Management and Supervision
Service Development

What You'll Need

Qualifications Requirements

A recognised Social Care/Social Work or relevant professional qualification, normally at Level 7 or above on the National Framework of Qualifications or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Where applicable, current registration with the relevant CORU registration board or evidence of eligibility/application for registration.

Additional management, leadership, youth work, social care or related qualifications would be advantageous.

Experience Requirements

Significant experience working with young people in care or care-experienced young people.
Experience in children's residential care, aftercare, leaving-care or a closely related service.
Experience in a management or senior leadership role.
Experience of supervising and developing staff.
Experience of safeguarding and child protection.
Experience of multi-agency working.

Vetting Requirement

Successful candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting through Tusla and the National Vetting Bureau
