We are seeking a proactive, relationship-driven and impact-focused Sustainability & Membership Executive. to strengthen member engagement, improve retention, and lead key sustainability initiatives across our membership base.
The Role
Reporting to the head of membership, the Sustainability & Membership Senior Executive will play a central role in delivering member value, strengthening retention, and leading sustainability engagement across the organisation.
This role combines strategic account management for key sectors with ownership of flagship initiatives and sustainability programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Retention & Sector Engagement
· Manage and develop relationships with members in key sectors including Construction, Transport and Energy amongst others.
· Drive membership retention through proactive engagement, structured account management and ongoing relationship building.
· Act as a key account manager for strategic members within assigned sectors, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
· Collaborate with Head of Membership in a supporting role to ensue retention targets are met due to elevated sustainability activity/ consulting.
· Conduct regular engagement and retention calls to understand member needs and identify opportunities for added value.
· Support onboarding and activation of new members, ensuring a smooth transition from Business Development to Membership.
· Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development colleagues to increase member visibility across campaigns, events, social media, newsletters and other channels.
· Support credit control and invoicing processes, working closely with Finance function to ensure timely payment of membership fees and proactive resolution of payment issues.
· Monitor retention risks (including engagement and payment risk) and proactively address issues to improve member retention and satisfaction.
Guaranteed Irish House - reporting to Head of Membership
Take ownership of the Guaranteed Irish House initiative as a flagship organisational project.
- Lead coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and ongoing development.
- Develop a calendar of activities and engagement to drive ongoing participation, visibility and member value. Work with Marketing & Events colleagues to deliver key new events.
- Leverage Guaranteed Irish House as a platform to showcase Irish supply chains, member collaboration and provenance across key sectors, supporting increased member engagement, visibility and activity on the Guaranteed Irish directory.
- Ensure the initiative is aligned with Guaranteed Irish values and delivers measurable member and public impact.
- Develop and maintain case studies showcasing member participation and impact within the initiative.
- Support the strategic positioning and long-term evolution of Guaranteed Irish House as a key platform for engagement and visibility.
Sustainability Leadership & Member Engagement
- Deliver sustainability engagement across the wider membership base beyond core sector accounts, including one-to-one advisory calls with members
- Deliver sustainability-focused initiatives including workshops, training programmes, case studies and best practice sharing across members.
- Coordinate the SDG Champion initiative, supporting engagement activity as it is developed and showcasing member leadership in sustainable business practices.
- Develop and promote sustainability case studies and impact stories across the membership network.
- Work cross-functionally to integrate sustainability messaging and initiatives into member engagement activity and support sustainability practices within office operations.
Reporting & Performance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records across HubSpot, Asana, SharePoint and internal systems.
- Track and report on membership KPIs, engagement metrics and retention performance.
- Provide weekly insights and recommendations to the Membership Manager and leadership team.
- Use CRM insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities within the membership base.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sustainability or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in account management, or client engagement roles.
- Demonstrated experience or strong working knowledge of sustainability, ESG or responsible business, with the ability to support members through advisory-style one-to-one engagement.
- Experience managing relationships across multiple sectors, ideally including experience in the Construction, Transport or Energy sectors.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and project management ability.
- Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot an advantage).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different programmes and stakeholders.
