Full job description

**Key Requirement: Must be CORU registered + minimum 2/3 years’ experience in similar role

Purpose of the Role

The Team Lead plays a key role in delivering high-quality supports, programmes and services to children aged 4–18 years and their caregivers. The role involves providing assessment, case management, individual and group interventions, and coordinating supports for children with a wide range of needs, including those requiring intensive wraparound support.

Working as part of the Le Chéile Clondalkin multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to ensure children and families receive safe, effective and person-centered services. The role also contributes to the day-to-day operation of the service, including maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management:

· Complete initial assessments and identify support needs.

· Develop, implement and regularly review care plans.

· Coordinate and allocate cases across the staff team and external services.

· Monitor client progress and evaluate outcomes.

Service Delivery:

· Deliver high-quality, child-centered and family-focused interventions.

· Support children and caregivers through advocacy and accompaniment where required.

· Promote participation, choice and dignity in all aspects of service delivery.

· Develop and facilitate programmes and initiatives that support children’s wellbeing and family resilience.

· Promote awareness of Le Chéile Clondalkin services within the community.

Partnership Working:

· Build effective relationships with Tusla, HSE, schools, community organisations and other relevant agencies.

· Attend internal and external meetings as required.

· Develop referral pathways and collaborative working arrangements.

Administration and Compliance:

· Maintain accurate and confidential client records using organisational recording systems.

· Collect and report service statistics and key performance indicators.

· Ensure compliance with organisational policies, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.

· Support staff training and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Health, Safety and Safeguarding:

· Promote a safe environment for children, families, staff and visitors.

· Comply with health and safety, fire safety and manual handling procedures.

· Report incidents, safeguarding concerns and risks promptly.

· Maintain confidentiality and manage personal information in accordance with data protection requirements.

The role involves supporting vulnerable children and families who may have experienced trauma, substance misuse, mental health difficulties, domestic abuse or other complex challenges. It requires resilience, sound judgement, empathy, professionalism and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and respectfully.

Applicants must have:

· A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care Practice, Social Care Work or Applied Social Care.

· Registration with CORU, evidence of an application for registration, or eligibility for registration.

· A minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience working directly with children and families experiencing complex needs.

· Strong assessment, report writing and record-keeping skills.

· Good IT skills.

· Experience working collaboratively with external agencies.

Applicants should demonstrate:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Leadership and team coordination abilities.

· A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding and family support.

· Knowledge of youth mental health, parental substance misuse, hidden harm, domestic abuse and family dynamics.

· Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

· Commitment to person-centered, rights-based practice.

Desirable

· Full clean driving licence.

· Experience in community family support, residential care, children’s mental health, challenging behaviour or substance misuse services.

· Knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory services.

· Experience managing an independent caseload.

Applicants using their own vehicle for work must ensure their insurance provides appropriate business cover.

Garda Vetting

Appointment is subject to satisfactory Garda Vetting and any required international police clearances where applicable.
