Nazareth Care Mission and values:

Every management or leadership position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of these values, both operationally and strategically.

The whole organisation is concerned with caring for or supporting people, so everyone associated with the provision of services, at all levels, is considered to be a 'caregiver'.

Caregivers are expected to uphold our 6 Core Values, treating each other and those they serve with respect and dignity in support of the Mission. The Mission Director works in conjunction with all colleagues across the various disciplines, supporting, guiding and animating staff to live the Mission and Values of Nazareth Care.

Our Mission:

Inspired by the courageous audacity of the servant of God, Victoire Larmenier, and her unfailing trust in the divine providence, we, the Sisters of Nazareth, living interculturally, aim to share the love of God through diverse ministries in a multicultural society.

Please note, this job is ideally based in our Regional Office in Dublin 3 but with countrywide travel required.

Key Responsibilities of the Mission Director:

1. Mission promotion:

Understand and promote the Mission and Values of the Sisters of Nazareth to staff and other advocates.

Communicate and animate leadership and staff around the Mission and Values, ensure that the Mission and Values are integrated fully into the delivery of all services.

In each location develop a team of 'Mission Bearers' to act as local advocates for the Mission and Values.

In conjunction with HR ensure mission training is embedded in all staff induction programmes. Investigate use of an e-learning system for training & informing staff of the mission prior to commencing employment in Nazareth Care Ireland.

Develop strategies to integrate the Mission and Values into the organisation's policies, procedures, and operations.

Work with Communities of Sisters to ensure their voice is heard and their contribution is valued.

Report monthly to the CEO against agreed targets.

2. Education and Training:

Develop and deliver orientation and training programmes for new and existing staff on the Mission, Values, Catholic ethos, and compassionate care.

Develop and deliver education programmes for staff on the history of the Congregation and its foundress, Victoire Larmenier.

Recommend how the spirit of Victoire can be embedded to prevail, irrespective of the presence of Sisters at a location.

Provide resources and support for ongoing spiritual and professional development.

Promote social justice initiatives aligned with Christian social teachings.

3. Pastoral care:

Working with care teams, oversee and support the provision of pastoral care services to residents, families, and staff.

Ensure the well-being and spiritual needs of residents and staff are enhanced for people of all faiths and none.

Coordinate with Sisters to ensure the availability of religious and Sacramental services in all locations, and ensure that they remain aligned with our Catholic ethos.

Advocate for the needs and rights of residents within Nazareth Care and in the broader community.

4. Leadership

Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure mission alignment in decision-making processes.

Be an active and rounded member of the senior leadership team, promoting the Mission and Values whilst understanding the broader regulatory, operational and financial requirements of service delivery.

In line with the teachings of the Church and in accordance with statutory legislation, support managers in ethical decision-making, both in organisational and clinical practice. Develop structures and policies to ensure compliance with such ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

5. Community Engagement:

Foster relationships with local parishes, Dioceses, and other Catholic organisations.

Represent the organisation at community events and in public forums to promote its Mission and Values.

6. Accountability (in addition to reporting to the CEO)

Serve the Board's Mission and Ethics Subcommittee, reporting to them on achievements, priorities and initiatives.

Work with fellow Mission Directors in other regions to develop and promote the Mission and Values and to share resources.

Respond to the requests of Sisters to ensure the promotion of the Mission and values.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

Ability to inspire and motivate others.

Respectful of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.

Strong understanding of the Mission, Values and ethos of the Sisters.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.

Demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Sisters.

Ability to develop and present educational content relevant to the Mission function.

[Desirable] Qualification in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.

[Desirable] Experience in a leadership role within a faith-based or healthcare organisation.
