We are seeking an experienced and motivated midwifery leader to join our team as Neonatal Transport Coordinator - Assistant Director of Midwifery/Nursing (ADOM/N)
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for the coordination and development of neonatal transport services across Ireland, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality care for babies and their families.
Working collaboratively with maternity hospitals, neonatal units, ambulance services and multidisciplinary teams, the post holder will lead service improvement initiatives, develop national policies and standards, and support the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred transport services.
Eligibility Criteria - Qualifications and/or Experience
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
- Are registered, or be eligible for registration, in the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives as, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann)

Have 7 years post registration nursing and midwifery experience including 3 years senior midwifery management experience

Candidates must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability, for the proper discharge of the duties of the office

It is desirable that candidates have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verifies that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) or can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher standard in a health care or management related area.
- It is desirable that candidates have experience in neonatal intensive care, neonatal retrieval, or neonatal transport services.
Annual registration:
(i) On appointment practitioners must maintain live annual registration in the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann)
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the Director of Midwifery and Nursing office
