Full job description

Deli Manager / All-Rounder

We are looking for a dependable and experienced full-time Deli Manager / All-Rounder to oversee our busy builders' yard deli located at Robinhood Road, Dublin.

This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day deli management with food preparation, baking, customer service, coffee service, stock control and general operational duties. The successful candidate will be organised, confident working independently and comfortable taking responsibility for the smooth running of the deli.

If you are fast, friendly, reliable and know your way around a sandwich station, this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of the deli and maintain consistently high standards.
Prepare and wrap fresh breakfast and lunch rolls, sandwiches and baps to order.
Bake and prepare fresh deli and bakery items as required, following recipes and maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
Assist with daily baking requirements, including preparation, baking, portioning and presentation of products.
Make and serve takeaway coffees and teas.
Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, rotation and waste control.
Ensure food is fresh, properly labelled, attractively presented and stored correctly.
Prepare food and baked goods efficiently for the following day.
Operate the till and complete daily cash-handling duties where required.
Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked preparation and service area.
Follow and enforce HACCP Level 2 food safety and hygiene procedures.
Coordinate daily tasks and support or supervise other team members where applicable.
Assist with general cleaning and other duties needed to keep the deli running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a deli, sandwich bar, cafe or similar food-service environment.
Previous supervisory or management experience.
HACCP Level 2 certification is required.
Baking experience or strong baking skills are preferred but not essential. We value enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude, and training can be provided for the right candidate.
Experience using a commercial coffee machine preferred but not essential - training will be provided.
Strong food preparation, stock-management and organisational skills.
A confident, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to manage priorities and remain calm during busy periods.
Reliable, punctual and available for early morning starts from 6:30am.
Fluent English and strong communication skills.
A friendly personality, a good sense of humour and a team-player attitude.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the deli's daily operation.

This position would suit someone seeking a stable, hands-on management role in a friendly, straightforward working environment.
