Leopardstown Shopping Centre | Two positions available | 48 hours of shifts available across the week
Sheridans Cheesemongers is looking for two enthusiastic Retail Cheesemongers to join our team at our cheese wall in Dunnes Stores, Leopardstown.

here are 48 hours of shifts available each week across Leopardstown and Cornelscourt, which we are looking to divide between two people. We are flexible about how the hours are split between the successful candidates, depending on availability and the needs of the business.
This is a hands-on retail role for someone who loves great food and enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with customers. You'll be part cheesemonger, part storyteller and part food retailer - looking after beautiful cheeses, keeping the wall looking fantastic and helping customers discover something new.
No previous cheesemongering experience is necessary. We provide training and the opportunity to develop genuine expertise in Irish and European artisan cheese, food producers and the traditions behind them.
Our working week runs Sunday to Saturday.
The current shifts we need to cover at Leopardstown are:

This provides 40 hours of Leopardstown cover per week.
In addition, there is an 8-hour shift per week at our Cornelscourt location.
We are hiring two people to cover these shifts, and we are open to discussing how the available hours can be divided between the successful candidates.
For example, one person may prefer more hours while another may be looking for a part-time position. Please tell us your preferred hours and your availability when applying.
Weekend availability is essential, particularly for the Sunday and Saturday shifts.
Occasional additional cover at either Leopardstown or Cornelscourt may also be required.
The role combines customer service, food knowledge and the day-to-day running of our cheese walls.
You'll be responsible for:

Receiving and processing deliveries and putting stock away correctly.

Maintaining accurate stock levels and carrying out regular stock rotation.

Looking after cheese and other products to ensure they are stored, handled and sold in the best possible condition.

Merchandising and maintaining attractive, well-stocked cheese displays.

Preparing cheese for sale and keeping signs and displays looking great throughout the day.

Offering customer tastings and helping customers discover new cheeses and foods.

Talking to customers about flavour, texture, provenance, pairings and the stories behind our producers.

Providing friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely excellent customer service.

Learning about and promoting Irish and European farmhouse cheese and artisan food.

Working with the team to minimise waste and ensure products are sold within their best-before dates.

Maintaining food safety, HACCP and allergen standards.

Keeping counters, fridges, storage areas and the surrounding retail space clean and organised.

Taking part in stocktakes and maintaining relevant daily records.

Supporting the wider team with seasonal displays, hampers and other retail activities.

Reporting stock, product or customer issues to the Team Leader or Retail Manager.

Providing cover at our Cornelscourt location when required.
We're looking for someone who is:

Self-motivated and happy working independently when required.

Practical and hands-on - happy to get stuck into deliveries, stock and merchandising as well as customer service.

Detail-oriented, particularly when it comes to stock rotation, food care and presentation.

Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Available to work the required shifts, including weekends.
Previous retail, deli, food service or cheesemongering experience is welcome but not essential. HACCP or food-safety experience is an advantage, but training will be provided.
