About the Role:
Solar Systems Ireland is looking for an experienced and ambitious Solar Sales Consultant to join our growing sales team.
This is a customer-facing sales role focused on converting company-generated, qualified appointments into residential and commercial solar PV sales.
Our internal marketing and appointment-setting team will generate, qualify and schedule customer appointments directly into your calendar, allowing you to concentrate on meeting customers, understanding their requirements, recommending the right solution and closing business.
Appointments can take place at the customer's home or business, or at our dedicated Solar Systems Ireland showroom, where customers can see and discuss our solar PV, inverter, battery storage and EV charging solutions in person.
You will be supported by our appointment-setting, technical and operations teams throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend qualified residential and commercial solar appointments provided by the company.
- Meet customers at their homes, businesses, remotely or at our dedicated showroom.
- Understand customers' electricity usage, objectives and requirements.
- Explain solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and associated technologies clearly and professionally.
- Use our showroom to demonstrate products and solutions to prospective customers where appropriate.
- Recommend appropriate solutions based on each customer's requirements.
- Prepare and present professional quotations and proposals.
- Follow up consistently on all quotations and sales opportunities.
- Manage your sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records.
- Work closely with our Sales Appointment Coordinator to maintain an organised and productive appointment calendar.
- Work with our technical and operations teams where additional design or technical input is required.
- Ensure customers clearly understand the proposed system, scope of works and expected benefits before proceeding.
- Maintain strong communication with customers from initial appointment through to sales handover.
- Achieve agreed weekly and monthly sales targets.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism.
- Generate referrals and repeat business from existing customers and contacts.
- Provide management with feedback on customer demand, competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in sales, ideally within solar PV, renewable energy, home improvements, construction, electrical products or another high-value consultative sales environment.
- A proven ability to convert qualified leads and appointments into sales.
- Strong face-to-face sales and presentation skills.
- Confidence discussing pricing, overcoming objections and asking for the business.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong follow-up and pipeline-management discipline.
- A target-driven and commercially focused approach.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage a busy appointment calendar.
- Experience using CRM systems or the ability to learn quickly.
- Full clean driving licence.
Previous solar PV experience is highly advantageous, but we will consider an exceptional salesperson from another industry who can demonstrate a strong sales record and the ability to learn the technical aspects of solar.
What Success Looks Like:
This is a results-focused sales position.
You will be provided with qualified opportunities and will be expected to take ownership of those opportunities from initial appointment through to signed contract.

- Monthly sales revenue.

The Person We're Looking For:
We're looking for a salesperson who wants to sell.
You should be comfortable meeting customers in their homes or businesses, welcoming customers into our showroom, building rapport, understanding their requirements, presenting the right solution and confidently asking for the order.
You will have support around you for lead generation, appointment setting, technical queries, project design and installation delivery. Your responsibility is to manage your opportunities professionally, follow up consistently and convert qualified enquiries into profitable sales.
