About the Role:
Solar Systems Ireland is looking for an experienced Operations & Project Manager to take ownership of the delivery of our residential and commercial solar PV projects.
This is a senior, hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle from technical site survey, installation, commissioning and customer handover.
You will coordinate customers, designers, electricians, roofers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams, ensuring projects are technically correct, properly planned and delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will have strong electrical experience and be comfortable making technical and operational decisions independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple residential and commercial solar PV projects from sales handover through to final completion.
- Review sales handovers to ensure the proposed system, scope of works, pricing and customer requirements are clear before projects progress.
- Review and approve site surveys and system designs before procurement and installation.
- Plan and manage installation schedules, resources and project milestones.
- Coordinate electricians, roofers, scaffolders, subcontractors, suppliers and deliveries.
- Ensure installation teams have the correct materials, equipment, drawings and project information before attending site.
- Provide technical support to installation teams and assist in resolving design, electrical, commissioning and site issues.
- Monitor installations for programme, workmanship, quality and cost.
- Maintain strong communication with customers throughout the project.
- Manage variations, additional works and changes to project scope.
- Coordinate ESB Networks, NC6, SEAI and Safe Electric requirements where applicable.
- Carry out or coordinate quality-control inspections of completed installations.
- Oversee system testing, commissioning and customer handover.
- Manage snagging and ensure outstanding works are completed promptly.
- Coordinate warranty issues, service visits and post-installation customer support where required.
- Ensure all project documentation, certificates, warranties, commissioning records and handover documentation are completed correctly.
- Monitor project profitability, material usage and subcontractor performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve installation processes, operational efficiency, quality and customer experience.
Essential Requirements:
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous project or operations management experience within solar PV, electrical contracting, renewable energy or construction.
- Strong practical experience with solar PV and battery storage systems.
- Electrical qualification and strong electrical knowledge.
- QC qualification.
- Experience commissioning solar PV, hybrid inverter and battery storage systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving ability and confidence making operational and technical decisions.
- Excellent customer communication skills.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs.
- Experience or ability to use CRM, project-management and cloud-based document-management systems.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Commercial solar PV installations.
- EV charger installations.
- Backup and changeover systems.
- Heat pumps or other renewable technologies.
- Construction Health & Safety.
- Developing operational procedures and quality-control systems.

The Person We're Looking For:
This position would suit someone who has progressed beyond purely installation-based work and is ready to take ownership of the operational delivery of a growing solar business.
You should be technically strong, highly organised and comfortable managing people, customers and multiple projects at the same time.
We are looking for someone who can identify problems early, make decisions, maintain high installation standards and take responsibility for getting projects from signed contract through to successful completion.
Pay: €60,000.00-€75,000.00 per year
