Benchmark International is the UK’s, Ireland and Europe's market leading Merger & Acquisitions specialist, handling company sales across all areas of both the SME and corporate mid-markets.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established organisation and become an integral member of our Transaction Team.

We are seeking a driven, motivated M&A professional, that has the flair and interest to negotiate and conclude M&A deals, with the office being based in the Cork Airport Business Park. The background can vary from Sales, Accounting, Banking, Finance or Commerce or even family business experience - but with the focus on understanding how to negotiate and conclude sell-side transactions whilst managing a portfolio and a team of M&A staff.

The role is client-facing, involves communicating with business owners who are selling their company. The candidate must be highly driven and have the ability to work well under pressure. You will be provided with all the necessary support by an experienced team who will guide and assist you on a day-to-day basis, but expect a certain level of autonomy in moving and concluding transactions from inception through Due Diligence and completion.

As the main point of contact with our clients, both in person and by virtual meetings, by email and over the telephone, a confident, presentable and professional manner is an essential attribute for any candidate. We are interested in attracting deal-doers that can manage client and buyer expectations and negotiations with that driven passion for finding a deal even in the face of adversity and enjoy the hustle of it all.

Experience in M&A deals necessary with business and finance knowledge beneficial and desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hungry for success and thrives from being part of a winning team in a fast-paced, high-energy role but able to manage team and doing deals in record time so extreme learning curve.

Key Competencies:

Understanding and experience in doing M&A transactions for SME clients desirable.
Understanding commercial terms together with interpretation of financial data to negotiate to maximum value.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills / manner.
Good numeracy skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial information.
Good negotiation skills, emotional intelligence and being able to deal with difficult situations, personalities and ambiguity.
Computer literate; experience of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel essential.
Self-motivated with the capability to prioritise workload.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Manage a portfolio of clients as well as work well within a team environment.
Managing multiple projects at the same time with deals at different stages whilst applying good project management skills and changing priorities to drive transactions to completion.
Full driving licence is preferable, even though travelling not regular.
