A key part of our business is helping food businesses reduce single-use plastic and comply with Irish and EU packaging requirements.
Role Purpose
The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of goods throughout the business, ensuring inventory accuracy, managing relationships with logistics providers and supporting the smooth operation of both internal warehousing and external third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
The Company is currently undertaking a supply chain consolidation project, with the phased transition of the majority of its warehousing operations to a strategic third-party logistics provider. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting this transition while ensuring business continuity and helping to develop efficient, scalable supply chain processes for the future.
This role combines operational coordination with continuous improvement and will work closely with Procurement, Production, Sales, Customer Service and external logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination
· Coordinate inbound deliveries from suppliers to both internal warehouse locations and external 3PL facilities.
· Arrange transport with approved courier and freight providers.
· Liaise with suppliers, transport providers and 3PL partners to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently.
· Monitor shipment progress and communicate delivery updates where required.
· Coordinate customer returns and reverse logistics activities.
· Support import shipments by liaising with freight forwarders and customs agents to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
Inventory Management
· Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
· Coordinate stock transfers between internal warehouse locations and external 3PL facilities.
· Monitor stock levels and work closely with Procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
· Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
· Support internal and external stock takes and reconcile inventory differences.
· Ensure Production has the required materials available to support manufacturing schedules.
3PL Management
· Act as the day-to-day operational contact for the Company's third-party logistics provider(s).
· Coordinate inbound bookings, stock transfers and inventory reconciliation.
· Monitor service performance and resolve operational issues.
· Review warehouse and logistics performance against agreed service levels.
· Verify storage, handling and transport charges and investigate invoice discrepancies.
Warehouse Coordination
· Coordinate the efficient operation of the Company's internal warehouse activities.
· Work closely with warehouse personnel to ensure timely receipt, storage and movement of stock.
· Support goods-in activities where required during periods of operational demand.
· Promote safe and efficient warehouse practices.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities to improve supply chain, warehouse and logistics processes.
· Support the ongoing supply chain consolidation project and implementation of new logistics processes.
· Assist with the development and documentation of standard operating procedures.
· Contribute to projects aimed at improving customer service, inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Performance
- Produce regular inventory and logistics reports.
- Deliver on key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, delivery performance and logistics costs.
- Analyse trends and recommend improvements to enhance operational performance.
- Support budgeting activities by monitoring logistics expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Stakeholder Management
- Build effective working relationships with internal departments including Procurement, Production, Sales, Finance and Customer Service.
- Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, transport providers and logistics partners.
- Provide accurate and timely information regarding inventory availability and delivery schedules.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Experience within Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control or Warehouse Coordination.
- Experience working with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
- Experience coordinating transport, suppliers and third-party logistics providers.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL).
- Manufacturing or distribution environment experience.
- Knowledge of import/export logistics and customs procedures.
- Experience supporting business improvement or change projects.
