Full job description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing civil engineering projects, carrying out GPS-based setting out and surveying activities, monitoring site costs, and providing regular progress reports to the Contracts Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who can work independently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out GPS setting out and surveying for civil engineering projects.
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Monitor and record site progress, ensuring projects remain on schedule.
Track and manage site costs, labour, plant, and materials.
Prepare and submit accurate site reports, progress updates, and cost information.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
Identify and resolve technical and operational issues on site.
Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Attend site meetings and provide regular updates to the Contracts Manager.
Assist with project planning, programming, and resource allocation.

Requirements

Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure, or utility projects.
Proficiency in GPS surveying and setting-out equipment.
Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
Experience monitoring site costs and preparing project reports.
Good organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

Experience with AutoCAD and surveying software.
Knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standards.
Previous experience working with Contracts Managers and project delivery teams.
