Head Chef – Paddy Reilly’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, Basel, Switzerland

Paddy Reilly’s Irish Pub & Restaurant in Basel is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our team.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, leading and developing the kitchen team while ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, preparation, presentation and service. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with the wider management team to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the business.

The successful candidate will:

Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Head Chef in a busy, high-volume restaurant, pub or gastro-pub environment.
Have strong experience in menu planning, development and implementation.
Have excellent knowledge of food costing, portion control, stock management and ordering.
Be passionate about producing high-quality food using fresh, quality ingredients.
Be confident managing, motivating and developing a kitchen team.
Have the ability to train and support junior chefs and develop their skills.
Maintain consistently high standards throughout busy services.
Maintain excellent standards of HACCP, food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
Report to the Operations Manager and work collaboratively with the management team on day-to-day operations, service standards, staffing, cost control, menu development and overall business performance.
Communicate effectively with the management team, identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the continued development and success of the restaurant.
Be organised, reliable and able to work effectively under pressure.
Be a clear communicator and a positive team leader.
Ideally have experience working within an Irish pub, gastro-pub or casual dining environment.
Be legally entitled to work in Switzerland.
