Role DescriptionWe are seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity.In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting Siren’s internal and customer-facing IT services. You will work closely with the engineering, business administration, and marketing teams to provide reliable, scalable IT services that support high-quality delivery.
The role is based primarily on-site in our company headquarters in Galway. It will involve engagement with employees accross all departments, both in-person and remotely, to ensure timely and reliable delivery of the full portfolio of IT services.
The position also includes oversight of system administration activities, with a strong focus on managing and optimising Linux-based systems to ensure operational reliability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the business-critical infrastructure that supports the company’s IT services in SAAS, cloud and bare-metal environments
- Plan, manage, maintain and monitor IT resources using best practices
- Automate, maintain and deploy internal and public-facing web applications and sites
- Respond to incidents and manage ongoing risks to the IT infrastructure
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions that continuously solve Siren requirements/problems
- Be a team player with strong collaborative abilities across infrastructure, business processes, and marketing ops
- Use best practices and industry advancements for the continuous improvement of IT services
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT, DevOps or similar role for 3-5 years
- Experience in incident, problem, change and inventory management
- Strong experience working with Linux systems
- Hands on experience with Cloud providers (e.g. GCP)
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and configuration
- Experience implementing infrastructure security best practices
- Scripting language (Bash, Python)
- Website management experience (e.g. Apache, Wordpress, javascript, HTML)
- Proficient using source control tools (git, github)
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and debugging skills
- Fantastic communication skills and an ability to explain technical concepts across various levels of technical competency
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices
- Experience with setting up of monitoring and alerting
- Proficiency with a programming language and programming principles (e.g. Go, Java, Javascript, Ruby, Rust)
- Experience with Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence)
- Experience working with ElasticSearch and ELK stack is a plus
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms (SAML, OpenID)
- Strong Security knowledge is a plus
- Strong Docker and/or Kubernetes knowledge is a plus
- Experience working with Configuration as Code, Infrastructure as Code
