Full job description

CaterBoss is looking for a confident, commercially minded Inbound Sales Executive to join our growing Sales Team in Carlow.

This is an inbound sales role, not a cold-calling position.

You will deal with customers who contact CaterBoss looking for commercial catering equipment and supplies, helping them identify the right products, preparing quotations, following up opportunities and converting enquiries into sales.

Our customers are businesses throughout Ireland, and enquiries range from straightforward product purchases to larger commercial equipment requirements needing more detailed advice and follow-up.

You will receive structured training before managing your own sales pipeline and will then work closely with an experienced Sales Director.

For someone who enjoys speaking with customers, solving problems, following up opportunities and closing sales, this role offers strong performance-related earning potential.

Salary & earning potential

€31,000 guaranteed base salary

plus

Up to €10,000 performance-related sales bonus per year

OTE: up to €41,000 per annum

The sales bonus is earned by exceeding agreed monthly sales thresholds, giving you a direct opportunity to increase your earnings as your sales performance develops.

What you will be doing

Your day-to-day work will include:

Answering inbound sales calls and enquiries from customers throughout Ireland
Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable equipment
Preparing and issuing quotations
Following up quotations and open sales opportunities
Converting enquiries into orders
Selling commercial catering equipment across a broad range of product categories
Developing strong product knowledge and confidently advising customers
Handling questions on specifications, availability, delivery and suitability
Identifying appropriate upselling and cross-selling opportunities
Maintaining accurate customer and sales information in our systems
Working closely with the Sales Director and wider CaterBoss team
Developing your own sales performance against clear and measurable targets

Training:

You will not be expected to arrive knowing our entire product catalogue.

We have a structured induction and training process.

For your first four weeks, you will work closely with our Chief Operations Officer and learn how CaterBoss operates, including:

Products and product ranges
Systems and order processes
Suppliers
Quotations and order flow
Deliveries and fulfilment
Warranties and returns
How the different parts of the business work together

Following your initial induction, you will join the Sales Team and work directly with our Sales Director.

You will receive ongoing coaching in:

Handling inbound sales calls
Understanding customer requirements
Quotation technique
Objection handling
Follow-up
Closing sales
Product recommendation
Increasing revenue from customer enquiries

Your performance will be measured against clear sales metrics, so you will know how you are progressing and where you can improve.

Who we are looking for:

We are much more interested in finding the right type of person than somebody who already knows everything about catering equipment.

You should be:

Confident speaking with customers on the phone
Naturally comfortable selling
Commercially minded
A good listener who can understand what a customer actually needs
Comfortable asking questions
Organised and disciplined with follow-up
Capable of learning technical product information
Motivated by targets and performance-related earnings
Reliable and consistent
Comfortable working as part of a small, busy team
Able to take coaching and apply feedback
Interested in becoming genuinely good at sales rather than simply processing orders

Previous experience in sales, telesales, inbound sales, account management, customer service or a similar commercial role would be an advantage.

Experience in catering equipment is not essential. Product knowledge can be taught.

The person who will do well here

You do not need to be an aggressive salesperson.

Good salespeople listen carefully, understand the problem, give the customer confidence in their recommendation and are comfortable asking for the order.

We are looking for someone who wants to develop into a high-performing salesperson and takes satisfaction from improving their own results.

There is a big difference between simply answering an incoming enquiry and turning that opportunity into a sale.

We want someone who wants to learn how to do that extremely well.
