Full job description

This is a pivotal role within Irish Green Building Council, responsible for coordinating and managing membership to ensure an excellent member experience. It involves managing day to day membership services, enhancing member engagement, and connecting existing and prospective members with relevant IGBC staff, programmes and services. You will be responsible for collaborating across a small team including events, education, communications, and marketing, to deliver a seamless and engaging member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and improve the association's membership processes, management systems, CRM and processes ensuring timely payment from existing members and registration of new members.
Design and oversee member retention programs to ensure high levels of satisfaction and engagement, including co-ordinating regular check ins with members.
Have overall responsibility for IGBC’s events and education programmes.
Closely co-ordinate with other IGBC staff to ensure members are aware of all engagement opportunities with our work.
In conjunction with senior management, develop and implement comprehensive membership growth strategies to attract new members from diverse sectors within the green building industry.
Manage existing partnerships such as Construct Innovate, US GBC.
Manage a small team.
Prepare and present regular reports on membership metrics, performance, and trends for IGBC executive management and IGBC board of trustees.
Any other responsibilities as required.
Manage and improve the association's membership management systems, CRM and processes ensuring timely payment from existing members and registration of new members.

Personal Qualities

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Should be comfortable operating at both operational and strategic levels, for example balancing implementation of day-to-day operational processes and activities, with developing longer-term strategy for member growth and retention.
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on process efficiency, accuracy, and follow-through, including oversight of membership invoicing, renewals, and member engagement activities.

Experience and Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in membership management, business development, or a related role within a professional association or non-profit organization.
Demonstrated success in growing and retaining membership bases and enhancing member engagement.

Desirable skills

Highly proficient in using CRM systems such as HubSpot.
Strong understanding of IT and potential of software interoperability eg, CRM with accounting software or AI to streamline membership processes.
Understanding or interest in building industry and sustainability practices.

Conditions:

Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
The role aligns with Level 4 of the IGBC pay scale - 50k-59k depending on experience (reviewed annually with opportunity to progress to director level) based on performance.
23 days annual leave rising to 28 days after five years, in addition to office closure days between Christmas and New Year, and Good Friday.
Company pension with 5% employer contribution
Salary protection and death in service insurance
Potential for flexible or hybrid working after probation, including option to average hours over a two-week allowing half day every 2nd Friday, subject to a minimum worked period of 36 hours per week.

The position is based at IGBC’s office in The Masonry 151 Thomas St, Dublin 8. A flexible work arrangement, including hybrid or part-time role may be available depending on the candidate and following successful completion of probation.
