The Role: Senior Project Manager – REF 2631
We are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of high-complexity projects and/or a portfolio of projects across the business.
A Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading high-complexity projects and/or a portfolio of design projects, while developing internal project management capability, driving project management excellence, and providing leadership support to PMO operations including acting PMO Lead cover when required.
The role requires strong leadership across project governance, commercial management, contract management, risk management, stakeholder engagement and multidisciplinary team coordination. The Senior Project Manager will act as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders and will support the development of project management capability across the organisation.
This role is suited to an experienced Project Manager who can lead complex delivery environments, support sector growth, mentor others, and contribute to continuous improvement in project management practice.
The responsibilities for the role are as follows:

Lead the successful delivery of high-complexity projects and/or a portfolio of projects
- Manage project delivery in line with the Fingleton White Project Management Procedure and internal governance requirements.

Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure scope, programme, budget, quality and resourcing requirements are clearly defined and actively managed.
- Provide temporary leadership cover for the PMO Lead role when required, overseeing PMO operations, coordinating PMO resources, supporting PMO staff, and ensuring continuity of project governance, reporting and project management support services during periods of absence.

Provide strong contract management, including management and negotiation of change, compensation events, variations and contractual risks.

Management and control of project budgets, programmes, and resourcing

Lead stakeholder engagement with clients, contractors, suppliers, internal teams and governance bodies.

Identify, manage and escalate project risks and opportunities, ensuring effective mitigation plans are in place.

Support company growth, business development and tendering activity, including preparation or review of tender information, cost estimates, programmes and project delivery inputs

Mentor, coach and support Project Managers, Project Coordinators and other team members to build project management capability.

Support continuous improvement of project management tools, templates, reporting, governance and ways of working.
- Act as a senior escalation point for Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Project Administrators, providing guidance and support on project delivery, governance, commercial management and stakeholder challenges.
The location for this role will be in Portlaoise or Dublin office.
The Candidate….
The ideal candidate will have:

Level 8/9 qualification in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or commensurate industry experience.

8+ years’ relevant project delivery experience, ideally within engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy or a similarly complex project environment.

Professional project management qualification or membership, such as APM, PMP, PRINCE2 or similar, or working towards same.

Strong leadership, ownership and accountability for project and portfolio delivery.
-
A client-focused approach, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly.
-
Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing project budgets, forecasts, contract change, cost control and revenue performance.

Experience in contract management, with experience in NEC 4 or similar contract forms desirable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging clients and stakeholders at different levels of responsibility.

Strong understanding of project governance frameworks, reporting requirements and internal procedures.
- Ability to mentor others and contribute to the development of project management capability across the business

Strong understanding of PMO operations, project governance, portfolio reporting, resource management and project management assurance processes.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project/P6 and other project management systems, including VantagePoint or similar tools

Full driving license and own transport required
