Warehouse & Logistics Operative / Driver
Location: Bailieborough, Co. Cavan – Cavan/Meath Border
Salary: €35,000–€40,000 per year, depending on experience

The Role
Western Solar is looking for an experienced, reliable and practical Warehouse & Logistics Operative / Driver to join our team at our new warehouse in Bailieborough.
This is an important role within our growing business. We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, keep stock organised, prepare customer orders and carry out deliveries when required.
We are looking for a dependable all-rounder with good common sense who can see what needs to be done, use their own initiative and get on with the job without needing constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, check and organise incoming stock
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately
- Load and unload trucks, vans and customer collections
- Operate a forklift safely and confidently
- Maintain accurate stock levels and assist with regular stock counts
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Use our computer systems for stock, orders and general warehouse administration
- Prepare deliveries and ensure the correct products and quantities are dispatched
- Drive company vehicles and carry out customer deliveries when required
- Deliver throughout Cavan, Meath, Louth, Dublin, Kildare, Westmeath and surrounding counties
- Load and unload products at customer sites
- Work closely with our sales, purchasing and logistics teams
- Assist with other day-to-day duties when required
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous warehouse and forklift experience
- Hold a full, clean driving licence
- Hold a valid trailer licence
- Be confident driving a van and trailer
- Have good practical skills and common sense
- Be capable of working independently and using their own initiative
- Be reliable, punctual and organised
- Have basic computer skills
- Be physically capable of warehouse work, including loading and unloading products
- Have good attention to detail, particularly when picking orders and controlling stock
- Be flexible and willing to carry out deliveries when required
- Take pride in keeping their workplace organised
- Have a positive attitude and be willing to help wherever needed
Experience & Background
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
Candidates with a background in construction, electrical, plumbing/heating, renewable energy, builders' merchants or another trade-related industry would be particularly well suited to this position and would have a distinct advantage.
We would also welcome applications from someone who has previously worked in a trade or on construction sites and is looking to move into a warehouse and logistics role.
An understanding of construction or electrical products, tools and materials would be beneficial, as the role involves handling and preparing technical products for our trade customers.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is practical, dependable, has good common sense and is capable of working on their own initiative.
