Full job description

Role Overview

North Cork Electrical is seeking a qualified and motivated Domestic Electrician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations on residential new build and refurbishment projects, delivering high-quality workmanship from first fix through to final handover.

This role requires a strong understanding of domestic electrical systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out 1st Fix electrical installations including containment, cable installation, back boxes, and wiring systems.
Complete 2nd Fix electrical works including sockets, switches, lighting, consumer units, smoke alarms, heating controls, and final terminations.
Perform Power-Up and Commissioning of electrical installations.
Conduct inspection, testing, verification, and fault-finding on completed installations.
Complete project Close-Out activities including certification, final inspections, client handovers, and documentation.
Identify and rectify snag items to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and site instructions.
Coordinate effectively with site managers, builders, and other trades.
Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.
Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials in good condition.
Deliver excellent customer service and represent North Cork Electrical professionally on all sites.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Electrician with National Craft Certificate or equivalent.
Experience working on domestic new build and refurbishment projects.
Strong knowledge of residential electrical installations and testing procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full clean driving licence.
Safe Pass certification.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
