Full job description

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Live-in Caretaker to look after the general upkeep, security, and presentation of a student accomodation complex.

This is a part-time live-in position with a one-bedroom apartment provided for the successful applicant. The role involves approximately 12–15 hours per week and requires a flexible, practical person who can work independently.

Availability during May and June 2027 is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the common areas, grounds, and general appearance of the property.
Carry out routine checks of buildings, entrances, lighting, fire alarms, CCTV, and security systems.
Monitor waste management and ensure outdoor areas are kept clean and tidy.
Carry out basic maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and garden upkeep where required.
Report any issues requiring further attention to management.
Assist with seasonal maintenance and general property preparation.
Provide a welcoming and professional presence for residents, students, and visitors.

Requirements:

Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working independently.
A practical person who is handy and comfortable carrying out basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining a property to a high standard.
Ability to manage a flexible work schedule, including occasional weekends.
Good communication skills and a professional approach.
