Location: Foxrock Avenue, Newpark, Foxrock, Dublin 18
Contract: Full-time / Permanent 37,5h
Start Date: September 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking Cleaning & Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will help ensure that our school premises remain clean, safe, well-maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining a high-quality learning environment for children.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties

Daily cleaning of classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and communal areas.
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and disinfecting surfaces.
Emptying bins and ensuring proper waste disposal and recycling.
Restocking hygiene and cleaning supplies.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.

Maintenance Duties

Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
Reporting maintenance issues, damage or safety concerns.
Assisting with furniture movement and room set-up for school events and activities.
Monitoring the condition of facilities and equipment.
Helping maintain outdoor areas, playgrounds and access routes.

Health & Safety

Following all health and safety procedures and school policies.
Ensuring a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Supporting emergency and security procedures when required.
Using cleaning products and equipment safely and responsibly.

Candidate Profile

Essential

Previous experience in cleaning, caretaking, facilities or maintenance.
Good practical and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
Good level of spoken English
Ability to perform physical duties associated with cleaning and maintenance work.

Desirable

Experience working in a school or childcare environment.
Basic knowledge of building maintenance.
Manual handling or health and safety training.
Basic French language skills.
