Full job description

We are seeking a motivated Junior EHS Officer to join our growing construction team across Galway.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Health & Safety procedures across construction projects
Support compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and company standards
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety checks
Assist in preparing risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation
Participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Maintain accurate H&S records and reports
Deliver toolbox talks and assist with safety training initiatives
Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Site Managers, and subcontractors
Promote best practices in health, safety, environmental, and quality performance
Support digital compliance systems and reporting tools

Requirements

Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
1+ year experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within construction
Knowledge of Irish Health & Safety regulations and construction site practices
Strong communication and organisational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full clean driving licence preferred
