Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

If your idea of IT support goes beyond resetting passwords and replacing keyboards, this could be the opportunity for you.
Shannon Airport operates a complex, business-critical IT environment where technology supports everything from baggage handling and car parking to retail, CCTV, telephony and airport operations.
We’re looking for a hands-on Level 1/2 IT Support Engineer with 3 years’ support experience who is eager to broaden their technical knowledge.
- Provide on-site deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals, including installation, configuration and break/fix.
-
Act as on-site “Smart Hands” support for network and server teams, following established procedures for hardware, cabling and rack-related activities.
-
Support Windows operating systems, standard desktop applications and mobile devices.
-
Manage user accounts in Active Directory, including password resets, account unlocks, group membership, network drive mapping and related tasks.
-
Troubleshoot basic LAN/WAN, VPN and Wi-Fi connectivity issues using standard diagnostic tools.
-
Configure, deploy and troubleshoot iOS and Android mobile devices.
-
Participate in scheduled software deployments and OS imaging, following established processes.
-
Provide hands-on support across a variety of airport-specific technologies.
-
Follow documented procedures while developing your knowledge of more complex systems and infrastructure.
You’ll have the opportunity to gain exposure to technologies that you simply don’t encounter in a typical corporate desktop support environment, including:
-
Car Park Management Systems
-
Common Use Platform (CUP) systems
-
Hold Baggage Systems
-
Baggage Identification & Weighing Systems
-
CCTV and IP Telephony
-
IP PABX (desirable)
-
Retail POS Systems
-
Airport Lighting & Management Systems
What you bring:
-
3 years’ IT support experience (hardware/software troubleshooting).
-
CompTIA A+ or equivalent (or willingness to gain during employment).
-
Basic familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
-
Clear, confident communication skills (C1 English).
-
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow security/compliance requirements.
-
Essential: Valid right to work in Ireland and 5 years’ continuous work/education history for airside clearance.
Security & Airside Requirements
-
Due to airport security and airside access requirements, all successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining an airport security pass.
-
Applicants must be able to provide a fully verifiable five-year employment, education and address history. Any significant unexplained gaps, or periods that cannot be satisfactorily evidenced through references or supporting documentation, may affect eligibility for airport security clearance and airside access approval.
Why this role?
This is a rare opportunity to gain exposure to specialist systems found only in airport environments — without the “must-have” senior engineer barrier to entry. We’ll support your development so you can adapt to the variety of technologies that keep the airport running.
Physical Requirements:
-
Able to lift or push 20-40 kilograms of equipment if needed.
-
Able to stand or kneel for extended periods of time.
-
Able to use mechanical tools.
