About the Role

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, P Kiernan Groundworks Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Groundworks Site Supervisor for a 130-unit residential development in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with extensive experience in deep drainage, residential infrastructure and Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) works. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site.
Work closely with the Client’s Project Manager and PKG’s Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Site Engineer.
Supervise and coordinate groundworkers, pipe layers, machine operators, dump truck drivers and subcontractors.
Plan daily work activities and allocate labour, plant and materials.
Oversee all deep drainage, watermain, foul and storm drainage installations.
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) standards, details and specifications.
Ensure works are completed to programme while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Maintain daily site records including labour, plant, deliveries and progress.
Assist the Quantity Surveyor by recording completed works, variations and additional works.
Carry out quality inspections and ensure defects are rectified promptly.
Lead daily toolbox talks and ensure full Health & Safety compliance.
Attend site meetings and maintain excellent communication with the client, consultants and the PKG management team.
Resolve day-to-day site issues and maintain a productive working environment.

Essential Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising civil engineering or groundworks projects.
Extensive experience in deep drainage is essential.
Excellent knowledge of Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) standards, details and specifications.
Proven experience on residential infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Full clean driving licence.
Safe Pass (required).
Manual Handling and Signing, Lighting & Guarding certificates are advantageous.
