About the Role
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, P Kiernan Groundworks Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Groundworks Site Supervisor for a 130-unit residential development in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with extensive experience in deep drainage, residential infrastructure and Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) works. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site.
- Work closely with the Client’s Project Manager and PKG’s Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Site Engineer.
- Supervise and coordinate groundworkers, pipe layers, machine operators, dump truck drivers and subcontractors.
- Plan daily work activities and allocate labour, plant and materials.
- Oversee all deep drainage, watermain, foul and storm drainage installations.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) standards, details and specifications.
- Ensure works are completed to programme while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Maintain daily site records including labour, plant, deliveries and progress.
- Assist the Quantity Surveyor by recording completed works, variations and additional works.
- Carry out quality inspections and ensure defects are rectified promptly.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and ensure full Health & Safety compliance.
- Attend site meetings and maintain excellent communication with the client, consultants and the PKG management team.
- Resolve day-to-day site issues and maintain a productive working environment.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising civil engineering or groundworks projects.
- Extensive experience in deep drainage is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) standards, details and specifications.
- Proven experience on residential infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Safe Pass (required).
- Manual Handling and Signing, Lighting & Guarding certificates are advantageous.

Pay: €55,000.00-€76,943.54 per year
