Position Description

Applications are invited for a Team Member position in Payroll. As part of a skilled and professional team, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of an effective payroll service to over 6,000 employees and over 8,000 retired staff.

People Operations is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of People Services related to the employee lifecycle - attraction, recruitment, on-boarding, administration of total reward and benefits, delivery of learning and development interventions, and payroll & time administration. It is also responsible for maintaining the central database for all employee data (e.g., role profiles, payroll, personal data, etc.), for management information and for monitoring HR quality, performance and compliance. People Operations will drive process improvement for the end-to-end HR processes, to deliver a user-friendly experience.

Key Responsibilities

Input to and manage a range of payroll services to ESB employees and retired staff.
Delivery of an excellent customer enquiry service to managers staff and retired staff.
In conjunction with line managers and HR Shared Services, ensure compliance with ESB agreements and terms and conditions.
Ensure PAYE and Revenue data is updated and compliant.
Working closely with other members of the team and the wider HR and Pensions Office team to ensure payroll timelines are achieved.
Collaborating with third party vendors to ensure accuracy of the payroll.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

Relevant experience in an administrative, payroll, HR, finance, customer service or similar role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on a range of duties as assigned.
An orientation to working with detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy, with the ability to deal with complex, numeric data.
Strong administration and organisational skills to ensure effective and timely delivery of services.
Good computer literacy, including strong capability using Microsoft systems such as Outlook, Excel and Word.

Desirable

IPASS qualification in payroll techniques
Experience using SAP software for running payrolls

Reporting To

This role will report to Payroll Team Lead

Location

This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make “in-person” time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week . All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€33,500 - €40,200 per annum (depending on experience)
