Happy Kids Preschool & Montessori is a unique outdoor preschool located in a beautiful rural setting just outside Navan, Co. Meath.
Our children spend their preschool day learning outdoors through play, exploration and meaningful experiences in nature. Inspired by Montessori principles and the Aistear Curriculum Framework, we believe children thrive when they have the freedom to learn, discover and develop in the natural environment.
We are looking for a passionate, caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator/AIM Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team.
The Role
This AIM-funded position offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality early learning experiences for young children.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced educators to create a warm, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
As an Outdoor Early Years Educator/AIM Support Worker, you will embrace outdoor learning in all seasons and actively contribute to providing rich, play-based experiences that foster children's confidence, curiosity, independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Build warm, positive and respectful relationships with children and their families.
- Support children's learning, development and wellbeing through play-based experiences.
- Work collaboratively as part of the preschool team to provide high-quality early learning and care.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of engaging learning experiences.
- Promote an inclusive environment where all children feel welcomed, respected and supported.
- Observe and support children's individual learning and development.
- Maintain a safe, caring and stimulating environment in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Participate enthusiastically in outdoor learning experiences throughout the year, embracing all seasons and weather conditions.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A minimum QQI Level 5 Major Award in Early Learning and Care (Childcare).
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
- A love of outdoor learning and a willingness to work outdoors in all seasons.
- Current Garda Vetting (or willingness to obtain same).
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in an early years setting.
- Experience supporting inclusive practice within early childhood education.
- Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta and the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM).
- Paediatric First Aid training.
- Children's First and Always Children First training.
- Manual Handling Training
Location
Our preschool is located in a rural area just outside Navan and is not accessible by public transport. Applicants should therefore have reliable transport to travel to and from the preschool each day.
