NeoDyne is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support one of our key client sites on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the NeoDyne team and play a critical role in delivering automation expertise across the Mayo based site.
The primary function is to support the integration of a new filling line into an existing manufacturing automation environment. The role will focus on PLC programming, controls integration, and batch process automation within a live production facility.
Key Responsibilities

Integrate new process equipment into the existing plant automation architecture.

Develop and modify PLC software to support tank transfers, pump and valve sequencing, process routing, CIP operations, process interlocks, and safety logic.

Develop and adjust phase logic within the FactoryTalk Batch environment.

Work within existing ISA-88 batch structures and site automation standards.

Collaborate with Batch/System Engineers to integrate equipment into batch recipes and process models.

Design and implement interface and handshake logic with OEM filling machine control systems.

Support integration across multiple PLC systems within live production areas.

Participate in commissioning, troubleshooting, start-up, and operational support activities.

Support HMI/visualisation development and testing activities.

Ensure all automation changes comply with site change control procedures.

Create and maintain technical documentation including Functional Specifications, Control Narratives, Test Documentation, and Troubleshooting Guides.

Support validation and qualification activities in line with site procedures.
Required Experience & Skills
-
Strong PLC programming experience, ideally with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell platforms.

Experience within batch or process manufacturing environments.

Experience with FactoryTalk Batch or similar batch control systems.

Strong understanding of ISA-88 batch control principles.

Experience integrating new equipment into existing automation systems.

Experience working with pumps, valves, process instrumentation, and tank transfer systems.

Experience supporting commissioning and start-up activities.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.

Authorised to work in Ireland.

Ability to work fully on-site.
Desired / Nice to Have

Experience in beverage, food, pharmaceutical, or life sciences manufacturing.

Experience with CIP systems and tank farm operations.

Experience with ControlLogix, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View.

Experience working in GMP or validated manufacturing environments.

Previous experience working with OEM machine suppliers and third-party integrators.

Experience supporting live manufacturing operations and multi-PLC environments.
