Maintenance Operative ***luxury hotel***

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. This full-time role is ideal for a proactive and hands-on individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining the highest standards.

As part of the Maintenance team,you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel’s facilities,equipment,and grounds are consistently maintained to an exceptional level,supporting both operational excellence and an outstanding guest experience.

Location:Cong,Co. Mayo

Employment type:Full Time

Working pattern:5 Days over 7 Days (including some weekends and Public Holidays)

Key Responsibilities as a Painter

Liaise daily with Management,Maintenance,and Housekeeping teams to prioritise and coordinate all maintenance tasks
Carry out all works to a high professional standard,ensuring minimal disruption to guests at all times
Maintain a clean,safe,and organised work environment,using appropriate protective materials (e.g. dust sheets) and adhering to best practices
Clearly display safety signage and maintain strong awareness of guest and colleague safety at all times
Manage and maintain the maintenance store,ensuring it is kept organised,secure,and compliant with safety standards,including proper storage of any flammable materials
Use ladders,scaffolding,and equipment safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures
Take a flexible approach to working hours,including evening work where required to minimise guest disruption
Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g. Porters,Grounds,Maintenance) to support the overall operation of the hotel
Plan,prioritise,and complete tasks efficiently,escalating works and coordinating external contractors through the Maintenance Manager where required
Support the wider maintenance function in a hands-on capacity,assisting with general maintenance duties as needed

Proven experience ideally within a hotel or high-end environment
Strong attention to detail with a focus on high-quality finishes
Flexible,hands-on approach with willingness to support general maintenance duties
Ability to work flexible hours to meet operational needs
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Team player with good communication skills and a guest-focused approach
