Full job description

We are an ambitious and growing condiment and sauce producer, based in Co. Cork. Our flagship product, Ballymaloe Relish is one of Irelands favourite food brands. Purpose

To lead and continuously improve quality performance across Ballymaloe Foods, ensuring that food products consistently meet customer, legal and company standards while driving a culture of accountability, problem solving and continuous improvement.

Operations Manager

QA Technician
Future quality team members

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

Lead the Quality function across the business.
Develop quality strategy and annual objectives.
Build quality ownership throughout all departments.
Coach and develop quality team members.

CAPA & Root Cause Analysis

Own the CAPA process.
Lead investigations into product, process and customer issues.
Ensure robust root cause analysis methodologies are applied.
Track effectiveness of corrective actions.

Quality Performance

Monitor and report quality KPIs.
Drive reduction of:
Customer complaints
Internal non-conformances
Rework
Waste
Rejects

Internal Audit Programme

Manage internal audits.
Ensure actions are completed and verified.
Identify systemic improvement opportunities.

Continuous Improvement

Lead quality improvement projects.
Work with Production, Maintenance and Supply Chain to improve standards.
Promote problem-solving and prevention rather than detection.

Success Measures

Complaint reduction.
Reject reduction.
CAPA closure performance.
Audit findings.
Reduction in repeat non-conformances.
Quality culture improvements

Essential Requirements

Degree or qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
3+ years' experience in a food manufacturing quality role, including leadership responsibility.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems and quality standards.
Experience managing CAPAs, root cause investigations and non-conformances.
Experience leading internal and external audits.
Strong communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in a BRCGS-certified food manufacturing environment.
Lead Auditor qualification.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience managing retailer or customer audits.
