We are currently recruiting for a Facilities' Manager to lead our dynamic maintenance team. The Facilities Manager provides direct management and supervision to personnel involved in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment; the care and cleaning of buildings and grounds; the operation of heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems; plumbing and electrical systems; roofing, waste management and interior and exterior maintenance of The Kingsley.

Responsibilities

Management of maintenance team
Assigns work orders by priority, and delegates duties and supervises work
Plan and oversee renovations and construction
Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies and facilities (e.g. kitchens)
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Co-ordinate all contractors that attend site and ensure all the relevant documentation is in place prior to the work commencing
Ensure Service Inspections and Statutory Inspections are carried out in detail, documented, and executed in a timely and efficient manner and any anomalies/issues are actioned promptly.
Provides facilities and operational input on major/minor capital projects, new building design and on remodel-improvement projects, including working closely with engineers and architects in the specification development stages of these projects.
Trouble-shoots and responds to after-hour issues as needed regarding the operational aspects of the facilities such as HVAC issues, fire alarm malfunctions, electrical outages, water leaks, etc.
Develops, recommends, and administers policies, procedures, and processes in support of grounds and building maintenance operations; implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes.
Ensures that the physical plant and equipment is operating in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion by directing all phases of maintenance, repair and renovation
Ensure the effective financial management of the engineering department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works programmes and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against these are regularly monitored and reviewed.
Manges budgets and payroll percentages in line with targets

Requirements

Degree equivalent, HNC/HND or BTEC of engineering discipline. City and Guilds or similar qualification in either Electrical, Mechanical, Heating Ventilation. Electrical qualifications an advantage

Previous experience in a similar role

In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations

Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems; hotel industry experience is a plus

Experience in administrative processes (e.g. budgeting, performance management)

Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly

Problem-solving aptitude

Excellent organizational and leadership skills
