About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable Coffee Shop Manager to join our team at Walkabout Coffee.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll work alongside the team while helping ensure the coffee shop runs smoothly, customers receive excellent service and our high standards are maintained every day.
Previous management or hospitality experience would be a bonus, but we're also interested in people with the right attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn and take responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the coffee shop.
- Lead, support and motivate the team during shifts.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Work hands-on alongside the team, including serving customers and preparing drinks.
- Maintain high standards of coffee, food presentation and service.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
- Organise staff breaks and help manage daily workflow.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
- Reduce unnecessary waste and help control costs.
- Ensure cleaning schedules and food-safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the café.
- Deal professionally with customer queries or complaints.
- Help train and support new members of staff.
- Ensure cash handling and till procedures are followed correctly.
- Communicate any operational, maintenance or staffing issues to the owners.
- Help create a positive, friendly and enjoyable working environment.

- Flexible with working hours, including weekend availability.
- Interested in delivering great coffee, food and customer service.
Previous café, barista, hospitality or management experience is an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
