The Hotel Kilmore in Cavan, part of Calusade Hotels group, is currently hiring a Night Porter.

JOB PURPOSE

The Night Porter works closely with the Night Manager to ensure guest safety, security, cleanliness and service excellence throughout the night. This role plays a key part in maintaining standards, supporting late-night guest needs, and ensuring the property is fully prepared for the following day’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service (People First):
- Provide professional and courteous service to all guests during night hours.
- Assist with late arrivals, early departures and guest requests.
- Handle basic guest queries and escalate issues to the Night Manager where required.

Operational Support (Excellence & Accountability):
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of meeting rooms or event spaces as required.
- Complete cleaning and preparation tasks for public areas.
- Ensure reception, lobby and entrance areas are presentable at all times.
- Support basic front office duties where required.

Security & Safety (Accountability):
- Conduct regular security walks throughout the property.
- Monitor access points and ensure the safety of guests and team members.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow hotel procedures.
- Maintain accurate incident and security logs.

Team Collaboration (Collaboration & Growth):
- Work closely with the Night Manager to ensure smooth overnight operations.
- Assist colleagues across departments when required.
- Participate in training and development initiatives.

KEY COMPETENCIES

- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Flexible to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- A strong alignment with the company’s values and service culture.
