Full job description

Clarkes of Cavan is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our PDI team. We are seeking an individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and is committed to providing excellent service to our customers.

Working with a range of commercial vehicles and diesel-powered equipment, you'll be part of a professional team in a modern workshop with ongoing opportunities for training and career development.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines and commercial vehicles.
Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing.
Identify faults using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems.
Perform engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical repairs.
Complete all work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance carried out.
Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet customer deadlines.
Ensure the PDI yard remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
A recognised mechanical qualification is desirable.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience working on diesel engines and commercial vehicles.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
A full, clean driving licence (preferred).

Pay: €32,975.07-€60,233.37 per year
