Clarkes of Cavan is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our PDI team. We are seeking an individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and is committed to providing excellent service to our customers.
Working with a range of commercial vehicles and diesel-powered equipment, you'll be part of a professional team in a modern workshop with ongoing opportunities for training and career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines and commercial vehicles.
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing.
- Identify faults using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems.
- Perform engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical repairs.
- Complete all work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance carried out.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet customer deadlines.
- Ensure the PDI yard remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- A recognised mechanical qualification is desirable.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on diesel engines and commercial vehicles.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- A full, clean driving licence (preferred).
Pay: €32,975.07-€60,233.37 per year
