- This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their leadership experience, take on increased responsibility and progress their career within a growing medical device manufacturing environment.
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, providing insightful variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
- Manage month-end close activities, including general ledger accounting, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting for departments and cost centres.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight, support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, and influence commercial decision-making.
- Oversee capital projects, tooling, engineering orders and fixed assets, ensuring accurate costing, capitalisation, depreciation and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare financial models, business cases and capital investment appraisals to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement within the finance function by reviewing processes, implementing efficiencies and strengthening financial controls.
- Support manufacturing finance activities, including inventory and cost accounting, physical inventory counts, external and internal audits, statutory reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Act as deputy to the Financial Controller, contributing to the ongoing development of the finance function and mentoring colleagues where appropriate.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Minimum of 8 years' post-qualified experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment; medical device experience is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, management accounting and manufacturing finance.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and business partnering.
- Excellent analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Experience driving process improvements and implementing effective financial controls.
- Commercially focused with the ambition to develop your career within the company
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820/QMSR would be advantageous.
