Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team full-time. The ideal candidate has experience preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes, maintains excellent hygiene standards, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of sushi items including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty rolls
Ensure all food is prepared to high quality and presentation standards
Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
Monitor freshness of fish and ingredients
Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
Keep workstations clean and organized at all times
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines
Assist in developing new menu items when required

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role
Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Strong knife skills
Team player with good communication skills
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
