We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team full-time. The ideal candidate has experience preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes, maintains excellent hygiene standards, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi items including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty rolls
- Ensure all food is prepared to high quality and presentation standards
- Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Monitor freshness of fish and ingredients
- Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Keep workstations clean and organized at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Assist in developing new menu items when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
- Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong knife skills
- Team player with good communication skills
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
