Maintenance Fitter

Location: Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo

CJ Sheeran is Ireland's largest manufacturer and recycler of timber packaging and pallets, supplying premium-quality, sustainable packaging solutions across Ireland and the UK. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a manufacturing environment where you'll play a vital role in keeping our production equipment operating safely and efficiently. What You'll Be Doing

Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
Support and continuously improve our Preventative Maintenance Programme
Inspect, test, calibrate and maintain plant machinery to ensure reliable operation
Work alongside production teams, electricians and contractors on equipment installations and upgrades
Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining maintenance records and ensuring compliance with company standards and accreditations
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and safety
Provide support during emergency breakdowns outside normal working hours when required

What We're Looking For

Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance fitting role within a manufacturing environment
Qualification in Mechanical Maintenance, Automation, Maintenance Fitting, Metal Fabrication or a related discipline (preferred)
Proven experience in electrical fault finding
Strong welding, fabrication and fitting skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Experience working with preventative maintenance systems
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
A flexible, proactive attitude with a strong commitment to quality and safety
Experience with robotic programming would be an advantage but is not essential
